DBS Update Service

You must register for the DBS Update Service as part of your Ofsted Inspector DBS application. You can register at two points in the DBS process:

  1. When the DBS receives your application and gives you a DBS reference number. This is an 11-digit number beginning with “E”. You will receive it once Matrix Security Watchdog has received and processed your online application and Identity Checking Form.
  2. When you receive your DBS certificate and have your certificate number. You must register within 30 days of the certificate being issued.

Registration lasts for one year and costs £15 a year, payable by debit or credit card only.
